Applied scientist Jobs in Zürich

As a Data Scientist, you’ll use NLP and conversational AI to transform customer feedback into insights that improve the Digitec Galaxus online shop. Working with cross-functional teams, you’ll also apply traditional machine learning to automate decisions and ensure a smooth, efficient customer experience.

Important notes What impact do you have?

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify machine learning use cases, assessing their feasibility and potential impact.

Conceptualize and develop machine learning models, overseeing all stages from initial prototype to deployment and continuous assessment.

Communicate and present the results of pilots and projects effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Drive and expand data science initiatives within the Customer Operations area, enhancing our capabilities and impact.

Contribute to the community of machine learning engineers at Digitec Galaxus by enhancing our models, our codebase and our platform.

What do you offer?

Completed degree (university / university of applied science / higher technical college)

Data-focused field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics).

3-5 years of experience

as a Data Scientist.

German (sound knowledge)

English (business fluent)

3-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a higher education degree in a data-focused field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics).

Practical experience in applying both classical NLP techniques and Generative AI solutions to real-world challenges.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts in a clear and relatable way to diverse audiences.

Experience in evaluating model performance using metrics that align with the use cases and business objectives.

Solid programming skills in Python and experience deploying ML models on cloud platforms.

Awareness of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data security.

Experience with agile methodologies, effectively working within cross-functional teams and collaborating closely with product owners and business stakeholders.

Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance productivity and effectiveness.

You prioritize empathy and compassion in decision-making.

English fluency is required; German skills (B1 or higher) are a strong advantage.
