A Day in the

Life of a Junior Research Assistant

Maintenance and work with

mammalian cell culture.

Interact

with core facilities for processing of experimental samples.

Work

closely with the scientists, research assistants, and students in

coordinating research plans.

Laboratory

culture media / supplements / consumables stock management.

Managing

stock location.

Managing

usable duration.

Communicating

with other scientists to update the stock in the digital database.

Replenishing

stock.

Processing

of laboratory deliveries, receipt, storage, and notifications.

Generation

of cell culture media.

Stock

ingredients (chemicals / growth factors) preparations.

Media

preparation.

Maintaining

workplace standards.

Assisting

in major laboratory activities.

Follow

the laboratory Standard Operational Procedure

(SOP).

What will make you

successful

Apprenticeships

graduate / Bachelor's degree / Master's degree in

biology / biotechnology / bio-engineering

Minimum

of 3-years of experience in Life Sciences /

Biomedical

Experience in

“mammalian cell culture” is

essential

Experience in a

laboratory environment is essential (cellular and molecular

biology)

Experience working

in a sterile

condition

Experience working

with bioreactors is a plus (but not required).

Self-motivated, strong work

ethic, team-working

mindset

Proficient in

English, French is a plus.
