The University of Zurich invites applications for a tenured professorship in work and organizational psychology (associate or full professor level) starting on 1 February 2026.
Candidates are expected to have an outstanding academic record in the field of work and organizational psychology. The applicant's research program must feature clear theoretical contributions and a high degree of methodological rigor.
The research program should address central topics of work and organizational psychology. Internationally recognized research, a coherent research program with a focus on quantitative methods, and include outstanding publications in international journals, and successful acquisition of third-party funding.
In their application, candidates are requested to provide a summary of how their past and future research program contributes to our understanding of psychological processes in their relevance to work and organizational psychology.
Applicants should explicitly state collaborations with other sub-disciplines of psychology or related fields, along with their ability to connect with ongoing research topics or methodological approaches within the Department of Psychology (see the t).
A teaching statement should document teaching experience in the area of work and organizational psychology, supervision of Bachelor-, Masters-, and PhD students.
Strong didactic skills are important for this position, as are high social and leadership skills.
Applicants are also asked to outline the ways in which they promote transparent, reproducible and replicable research and follow open science practices.
Candidates must hold a PhD degree and have an excellent record of academic achievements in the relevant field (equivalent to or having attained tenure).
Teaching can be carried out in English. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire a working knowledge of German within the first three years of their appointment.
