The successful candidates will join the Business Excellence Chapter, a team that together supports the different functional areas in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
On a daily basis, the candidate will interact closely with different lab-based functions in Pharmaceutical Science, (eg.
ADME, Pathology, Immunosafety, Genetics and Genomics, regulated bioanalytics, etc..) to support lab management-related tasks.
Job Mission
The Lab Manager provides day-to-day support to researchers by enabling, facilitating and simplifying laboratory work. They propose solutions and address pain points of the laboratory workers' community, with the final aim of maintaining lab operations continuity and freeing up their colleagues’ time to focus on science.
This position is a temporary position for 2 years.
Your Impact
You own the processes for all organizational aspects of the laboratory environment and are the go-to person for all lab-based colleagues.
You identify needs, provide effective solutions in a timely manner and manage the day-to-day activities.
You organize the lab space and support its coordination for effective usage and onboard newcomers in their new laboratory work environment.
Together with researchers, you ensure proper acquisition, maintenance, repair and disposal of equipment. This also comprises updating the Scientific Equipment Database and local inventory.
You act as a Safety Officer to secure safe operations by ensuring that the lab-based community is complying with SHE regulations, including onboarding new lab-based colleagues.
You support SHE officers for audits and Workplace Health Risk Assessments (WHRAs).
You are interfacing with the central site and global services such as Building Management (BM), End-to-End (E2E) Lab Services, Procurement, Basel Site SHE, Site Logistics, Site Services, etc.
You are assisting in the ordering of material in collaboration with procurement, Central Lab Supply (CLS) and external suppliers.
You support the lab workers in case of shortages or supply chain delays, ensuring savings and supporting requests to CROs. You will be the
