In this role, you are strategically responsible for the positioning, visibility, and brand perception of Basel Area Business & Innovation and its key programs and platforms, including Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area (SIP) - Switzerland's largest life sciences park - BaseLaunch, DayOne, and regional innovation initiatives such as InnoJura, as well as the promotion of the Life Sciences Supercluster. As a member of the management board, you actively contribute to organizational strategy and decision-making, and you lead and develop the marketing and communications team, guiding priorities, shaping structure, and driving results.

Building on the recent successful rebranding of Basel Area and the Life Sciences Supercluster launch, your focus is to leverage these assets through targeted, performance-driven campaigns - with a strong emphasis on digital channels and data-driven strategies - that deliver measurable impact.

Strategy & leadership

• Further develop and execute the overall marketing and communications strategy, with focus on digital approaches
• Lead, coach, and empower the marketing and communications team
• Establish efficient structures, processes, and workflows

Ensure consistent delivery of high quality outputs across all activities Branding & positioning

• Oversee branding of Basel Area Business & Innovation, SIP, and all related initiatives
• Ensure consistency and alignment across all channels and communications

Marketing, communication channels & campaigns

• Provide strategic guidance for all channels and campaigns
• Ensure a strong presence across all channels, with a focus on digital communications and online engagement
• Supervise targeted national and international marketing campaigns to promote services, initiatives, and the Life Sciences Supercluster

Public relations and stakeholder communication

• Lead PR and media relations strategy
• Oversee communication frameworks with media, public institutions and political stakeholders, in the Basel region
• Oversee the conception, planning, and production of the annual report
• Ensure planning and strategic alignment of the annual stakeholder event

• 10+ years of experience in marketing and communications, including 5-10 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies
• Strong competence in digital marketing, including channels, campaigns, and online communications
• Experience in an SME and/or NPO environment is a strong plus
• Strong knowledge of the Basel region and a well-established local network
• Leadership skills to guide and empower a team of specialists
• Excellent organizational and process-management abilities
• Very strong customer and service orientation
• Fluent in German and English; very good French is highly desirable
