JOB PURPOSE
As the IT Network Operations and Design Senior Manager for MSC Cruises, you will oversee all aspects of our network infrastructure, encompassing both operational and design elements. Reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure and IT Operations based in Geneva, you will be instrumental in managing our expansive network, ensuring the use of advanced technologies like virtual firewalls, cloud firewalls, and SD-WAN. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating an international network, managing complex deliveries, and overseeing a team composed of 15 internal and approximately 30 external members.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and execute strategies for the network's operations and design, aligning with the broader business strategy and IT infrastructure goals.
- Manage the network operations budget and contracts, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective vendor management.
- Lead the network team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the high availability and reliability of network services, incorporating advanced technologies and best practices in network security.
- Coordinate complex network projects, from conception through delivery, ensuring they meet business needs and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts and managing service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance and support.
- Collaborate closely with the IT Operations team and other departments to support the organization's digital transformation efforts and operational goals.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in the field of network infrastructure and cybersecurity, evaluating and implementing new solutions to enhance our network's performance and security.
- Oversee the implementation of network solutions for new terminals and remote offices, including hardware procurement, configuration, and testing.
- Assume full accountability for the budget and profit and loss (P&L) for the network tower, including forecasting, planning, and financial analysis.
- Work closely with finance and accounting teams to track expenses, monitor budget variances, and optimize cost-saving opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
Fluent in English, with proficiency in another European language considered an advantage.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.At least 10-15 years of experience in network operations and design, preferably within a large multinational corporation or a leading consulting firm.Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale networks, including experience with virtual firewalls, cloud, and SD-WAN technologies.Strong leadership skills with experience managing both internal teams and external vendors.Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts effectively.Solid understanding of project management methodologies, with a preference for those experienced in Agile and Scrum.CCNA / CCNP or other Cloud certification preferable.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)
